Greater Sioux City Metro Area Youth Survey Results

Siouxland CARES conducts a survey of 6th,  8th, 10th,  and 12th graders.  This report describes the conduct and findings of a survey of students in the Sioux City Community School District, Sioux City Catholic Schools, Sergeant Bluff-Luton School District, South Sioux City (NE), Dakota Valley School District (SD), Woodbury Central School District, River Valley School District and Lawton-Bronson School District. Town Hall Meeting Data

Siouxland CARES along with the Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission, Jackson Recovery Centers, Siouxland District Health Department, the Sioux City Police Department and Partnership For A Healthy Iowa hosted a “Communities Talk: Town Hall Meeting on Underage Drinking & Vaping” on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Bishop Heelan High School, 1231 Grandview Blvd., Sioux City, Iowa. Problem Behavior and Risk Factor Data

Community data includes the problem behaviors of  Substance Abuse, Violence, Teen Pregnancy, Delinquency, and School Drop Out.  Risk Factors data includes Availability of Drugs, Early Initiation of the Problem Behavior, Family History/Family Conflict, Extreme Economic Deprivation, and Academic Failure Beginning in Late Elementary School.
